Trainer revenue share
How trainers earn on Salem Moves, in plain language: what comes off a member’s payment before your share, what your share is, when it is calculated, and how you are paid. This is a summary for reference — the trainer agreement you sign with us is the contract, and where the two differ the signed agreement prevails.
What this page is
We publish the money side of the trainer agreement so you can read it before you sign and check it any time afterwards. Every percentage and every figure below is the one our system actually uses to calculate what you are paid. It is written for clarity, not as a replacement for the agreement: nothing here adds to, removes from or overrides the terms you signed, and if anything differs, the signed agreement prevails.
Your share of each subscription
Your pay is a share of what members actually pay us, worked out per subscription per month. A yearly subscription counts as one twelfth for each month it is active.
- Single Trainer subscription to you — you receive 75% of the net amount.
- All-Access subscription from a member you referred — you receive 50% of the net amount, and a further 25% funds the watch-time pool.
- All-Access subscription with no referral — 60% of the net amount funds the watch-time pool.
Each percentage applies to the net amount described in the next section. Nothing else is taken out between that net amount and your share.
What comes off before your share
Two things are deducted from a member’s payment before your share is worked out, and neither of them is ours to share: what that payment route costs, and any sales tax or VAT charged on the sale. A card payment loses the card-processing fee — about 3.6% + $0.30 per payment. A subscription bought inside the iOS, Android or Fire TV apps loses the app store’s own commission — up to about 30% — which Apple, Google or Amazon keep before the money ever reaches us; it is deducted the same way and for the same reason, because it is what that route costs us. Sales tax or VAT is deducted on whichever route collected it: on an in-app purchase the store collects it and pays it to the tax authority as the seller of record, so we never receive it; on a card payment we are the seller of record, so the tax arrives with the payment and we pay it straight on to the tax authority. In both cases the money is owed to a government rather than earned by anyone here, so it is not part of what we share. A purchase through the Iran checkout is treated the same way, using that gateway’s recorded fee.
Everything else is on us and is never deducted from your share: hosting, streaming, subtitles and dubbing, the payment infrastructure, the apps and support. Because the deduction follows the route, the same subscription pays you more when it is bought on the web than inside an app store — so your earnings page shows each month’s payments split by route, and you can see which is which.
The watch-time pool
The watch-time pool is the All-Access share that is not tied to one trainer, and it is divided one member at a time: each All-Access member’s slice is split across the trainers they watched, in proportion to how long they watched each one — a member who watched only you sends their whole slice to you. If a member watches nothing at all in a month, half of their slice is split equally between all published trainers and the rest stays with the platform. Pool earnings appear on your statement as a single figure per month; they are not itemised member by member.
When your earnings are calculated
We calculate the previous month on the 1st of each month, and the result appears in your dashboard under Trainer → Earnings, together with the date it was computed. Earnings months are calendar (Gregorian) months. If a month later has to be recalculated — a payment record that arrived late, a refund, a correction — we recompute it, mark it as recalculated with the new date, and tell you the numbers changed.
Getting paid
Payouts are requested by you, not sent automatically. As soon as your balance reaches $50 you can request a payout from your earnings page, and we pay in US dollars, by bank transfer or Wise, within 30 days of the request. A balance below $50 simply rolls over to the following month — except on the final payment when we part ways, which is paid in full whatever the amount. We pay the sending fee; any receiving or currency-conversion fee your own bank charges is yours.
Refunds and chargebacks
A payment that is refunded or charged back never stayed with us, so it does not count towards your earnings. If it had already been included in a month you were paid for, the amount is deducted from your next earnings — shown on your statement as a reversal, with the month it came from.
Checking your statement
You have 60 days from the day a month’s statement appears in your dashboard to raise anything that looks wrong; after that the statement is treated as final. The sooner you check it, the easier a payment is to trace, so tell us as soon as something doesn’t look right.
Changes to these terms
We may change the percentages or the way a fee is treated, with 30 days’ written notice. Any change applies to future months only and never to a month already earned; if a change doesn’t work for you, you may end the agreement before it takes effect.
When we part ways
When the agreement ends we pay everything you have accrued up to that date in full — the $50 minimum does not apply to that final payment. Single-trainer and referral earnings stop at that point. If we keep your videos published you keep earning your share of the watch-time pool for as long as they stay up, and we may unpublish them at any time, which ends those payments. Your earnings page stays available afterwards, so you can still see your balance, your monthly statements and your payout history.
The final payment is arranged by us, not through the usual request button — that button still applies the $50 minimum, so if your closing balance is below it, open a support request and we will settle it: salemmoves.app/contact
